A San Francisco date-night idea
Books. Dinner.
Questionable jokes.
A Castro night out built around mostly queer stand-up at The Love Potion Library.
A plan with something to talk about.
If you’re looking for a San Francisco date-night idea beyond another drink and “so, what do you do?”, make the show your anchor. Choose a Bits date at The Love Potion Library, leave room for dinner, and let the comics handle part of the conversation.
This is our own show, so yes, we have a favorite. Bits travels between venues; this plan is specifically for our Castro bookstore shows. Check the date and location before planning your evening.
Your evening, in three acts
Make a little night of it.
Start with the shelves.
The Love Potion Library is a bookstore, tea room, and wine bar at 284 Noe Street. Pick a book for each other, compare questionable taste, or just browse. Check the venue’s current opening hours before adding a separate daytime visit; event entry follows the show’s arrangements.
Choose dinner in the Castro.
Pick a meal that fits your budget and leave time to get to the show. San Francisco Travel’s Castro dining guide is a useful place to compare neighborhood options. Check the restaurant’s own hours and reservation availability for your date.
Make dinner your flexible part of the plan. Show times are fixed; how long you spend discussing a menu is between you and your date.
Let somebody else be funny.
Bits brings mostly queer stand-up into an intimate bookstore setting. Check the upcoming Bits shows for the lineup, time, and tickets. Coming with friends or on your own works just as well.
Before you commit to the bit.
